BY TRAIN TO HAKUBA -
From Narita Airport:
Passengers transferring from Narita Airport board the Narita Express to Tokyo or Shinjuku Station. Frequent departures from airport rail terminal. Traveling time to Tokyo - 1hr
From Tokyo:
Departing from Tokyo Station to Nagano, passengers board the Nagano Bullet Train (Asama Shinkansen). Travelling time 1.30 hrs. and runs regularly throughout the day. From Nagano Station. Buses from Nagano to Hakuba run every hour, with the last bus departing Hakuba at 8:20pm. (Friday night 9.20pm). Alpico bus cost per person 1400 yen one way. Buses depart from the East exit of Nagano Station stop 6.
From Shinjuku:
Catch the Chuo limited express (Super Azusa) departs from Shinjuku Station and travels directly to Hakuba. Travelling time 3.50 hrs.
From Nagoya:
Catch the Chuo limited express (Shinano) departs from Nagoya Station and travels to Hakuba via Matsumoto. Travelling time 3.30hrs
From Osaka or Kyoto
Departing Osaka or Kyoto catch the Sanyo Shinkansen to Nagoya and transfer to the Chuo limited express (Shinano) departs from Nagoya Station and travels directly to Hakuba. Traveling time 4.30hrs.
BY TAXI TO HAKUBA
Chuo Taxi – Narita to Hakuba, Bears Den Mountain Lodge.
It is the easiest way of getting from the airport to Hakuba, perfect if you are arriving late and want to wake up in Hakuba ready for the days adventure. Travel time is 6Hrs, bookings to be made 6 days prior, luggage per person 1 x suitcase and 1 x carry on. Price ¥9,500. Children under 7 years are free. BY BUS TO HAKUBA
NARITA AIRPORT - HAKUBA SHUTTLE
Hakubus - Narita to Hakuba, Bears Den It is the easiest way of getting from the airport to Hakuba, perfect if you are arriving late and want to wake up in Hakuba ready for the days adventure. Travel time is 6Hrs.
Keio Bus from Shinjuku (West Exit)
From Tokyo to Hakuba, no transfers and cheap (¥4700), without traffic jams it takes 4.5hrs with two rest stops on the way. Be prepared for delays during holidays and weekend rush (out of Tokyo) hour.
Bus terminal – Exit Shinjuku Station on the west side and follow the signs or Exit on the street level, cross the street and turn left, go one block and turn right. The terminal is across from Yodabashi Camera.
From Nagano you need to transfer to a bus, the bus runs from Nagano station to Hakuba. (There is no train between Nagano and Hakuba)
To get to the bus stop at Nagano station, go through the ticket machines and turn left, go down the first set of stairs on the left, (before you go over the over-pass) it is Bus Stop #6 at the end of the rank.

BY CAR TO HAKUBA
From Tokyo:
There are two options from Tokyo to get to Hakuba by car
1. Take the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway. Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 &148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba. 4hrs
2. Take the Kanetsu Expressway to the Fujioka J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Joshinetsu Expressway. Exit at the Nagano Interchange and follow the Hakuba Nagano Olympic Road to Hakuba. 4hrs
From Nagoya:
Take the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway. Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 &148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba. 3.30hrs
From Osaka or Kyoto:
Take the Meishin Expressway to the Komki J.C.T, head up the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway. Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 & 148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba. 5.30hrs
* Remember to bring chains and make sure your radiator has anti freeze.
LUGGAGE SERVICE
There is a courier service available at Narita airport called Yamato Express/ABC, they are at the far end of the arrivals level, (to the left as you walk through customs)
They also can be found all over the place and use convenience stores as agents.
You can send on your luggage/skis for a small fee. Generally around ¥1750 per bag will get your luggage to Hakuba. This price works out cheaper than using "luggage left" services or lockers at rail stations.
Most locals send on their luggage when holidaying, so the service is reliable and efficient.
